1957 Fender Precision Bass Sunburst
Four strings, two pieces of wood, and a single pickup. That’s all’s needed to keep this Precision Bass rocking in 2020, all the way from being born in 1957! This P-Bass retains the original pickup and sunburst finish, with original hardware down to the pickup and bridge covers. The volume pot is changed, and the tone pot appears to be older, though there are no date stamps so we don’t believe it to be original. There’s some gloss overspray to the fretboard, a 2nd screw added to the thumb rest to stop it from spinning around. There’s a very small crack in the wood between the A and D strings from the truss rod, however this doesn’t appear to be spreading or affecting the stability of the neck. The bass is strung up with flatwounds currently, and has that classic P-Bass thump that we all strive for. It includes a new Fender tweed hardshell case.
