1960s National Newport 88 Black John Entwistle Collection
A niche 1960s electric guitar full of unique tones and one of a kind looks, this is a 1960s National Res-o-Glas Newport 88 model in black. It was auctioned in 2003 as part of the John Entwistle collection and still has the Sotheby’s tags on the hardshell case. The guitar has a molded fiberglass body with an aluminum-cored neck and even a piezo-type “Silversound” pickup under the bridge for chiming acoustic-like tones. The guitar is in overall very good to excellent condition, with the electronics working and light wear and scuffs to the body. No major dings or any chipping in the paint!
