1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior Sunburst
It’s always a nice thing to come across a vintage Junior. This is an example from 1956, complete with the original pickup, electronics and hardware. The only unoriginal parts on the guitar are replaced strip tuners (the original machines are included, albeit the buttons have come apart over time, as they usually do), and the volume/tone knobs are replacements. For its age, the guitar cosmetically is super clean, with some dings around the body and neck along with finish checking, but no spots where paint is worn down to the wood.
One note on this Junior is that the wraparound bridge is leaning on its posts, most notably on the treble side where the stud is touching the edge of the dogear. We’ve checked out the studs and made sure that the wood is still intact in those areas, which they are, there’s no open gaps or cracks to make the bridge unstable. The frets on the guitar are original and have a low profile to them – but there’s barely any wear on them.
A modern Gibson hardshell case is included with this Junior. It plays nicely with no dead frets or buzzing, and the vintage P-90 truly is in a class of its own!
