Colletti Guitars Speed of Sound Roasted Pine with Fralin Single-Coils
This is the Colletti Guitars Speed of Soundâ„¢ serial 1015 – a this model is built with a lightweight roasted pine body and tru oil finish paired with a 3A roasted flame maple neck. This is one of the first Speed of Soundâ„¢ models with a triple single-coil pickup configuration, and the pickups chosen for this guitar are three ‘Woodstock’ pickups made by Lindy Fralin.
The Colletti Guitars Speed of Soundâ„¢ is an American-made guitar created by Music Zoo founder Tommy Colletti. The Speed of Soundâ„¢ is a bolt-on construction instrument featuring the Patent-Pending “Reso-Link” – a brass plate which links the body and neck to aid in resonance, sustain and articulation. The ‘Reso-Link’ is tuned specifically to sonically connect the neck and body to aid in the sympathetic resonance of each note. There’s a defined note separation and sparkle added to the tones of the guitar that make it reminiscent of the touch-sensitive response of vintage guitars that have had decades to acclimate as a musical instrument and vibrate as one whole piece.
The tonewoods of the guitars (fretboards to necks and tops to bodies) are joined together using hot hide glue. The use of hide glue is a process adapted from vintage guitar construction, violin makers, and stringed instruments from decades and centuries past. Hot hide glue adds sustain and brilliance and brings out the natural tonal properties of the wood.
The Speed of Soundâ„¢ features high-quality brass hardware and a tremolo design originating in the late ’70s. Vintage-accurate cloth-covered 22 gauge wire with authentic paper-in-oil capacitors are used to wire up the instrument.
If you’re looking for a high-performance American-made electric guitar, you won’t be disappointed by the tone and feel of a Colletti Speed of Soundâ„¢!
