Fender Custom Shop 70th Anniversary Broadcaster Nocaster Blonde Relic Masterbuilt Carlos Lopez
A perfect Broadcaster from one of the Fender Custom Shop’s finest Masterbuilders! This is a 70th Anniversary Fender Custom Shop Broadcaster in relic Nocaster Blonde crafted by Carlos Lopez! Carlos’ relic work on this Broadcaster is top-notch. We love the way the bridge has been tastefully aged and worn down, and the edges of the neck are smooth as butter. Features are all vintage-accurate down to the wiring style and slot-head screws used throughout the guitar. It’s even got a compound fretboard radius, a unique feature that’s quite forward thinking for a 70 year old design!
Whether he knew it or not, Leo Fender changed the world in 1950 with the introduction of the Fender Broadcaster: the companies first solidbody electric guitar with a truss rod and two pickups. Shortly thereafter, a telegram from Gretsch®, owner of the BroadKaster® trademark, ended Fender’s use of the name. For a short time, the word “Broadcaster” was simply clipped off the headstock decal – these guitars are known as “Nocaster®s.” Thereafter, this revolutionary guitar was dubbed the Telecaster®. Original Broadcaster models, of which only 250 are thought to have been produced, have become highly collectible.
