Gibson L-4C Archtop Sunburst 1950
This classic instrument is a 1950 Gibson L-4C archtop hollowbody with a sunburst finish. The guitar has a carved spruce top paired with maple back and sides, rosewood fretboard with double-parallelogram inlays, and multi-ply cream binding – all of which is still in excellent condition.
The tuners and end pin have been replaced with modern components. The tailpiece is an aged nickel reproduction, and there are screw holes visible from an older incorrect tailpiece. The pickguards top edge was cracked but repaired and reinstalled, and still looks great! It’s currently strung with flatwounds for that classic ‘50s Archtop sound, and the frets still look excellent with no major wear on them! It includes a vintage hardshell faux alligator Lifton case.
